On 14 September 2018, Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon attended the Opening Ceremony of the ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre.
Recognizing the importance of strengthening cooperation among ASEAN and Japan on cybersecurity development and capacity building initiatives, it was agreed at the 12th ASEAN Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministers with Japan held in Siem Reap, Cambodia in 2017, to establish such a centre.
