On 22 May 2018, Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon attends Iftar Dinner hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foundation of Islamic Centre of Thailand.

The event was attended by 1,500 participants, comprising members of the Muslim diplomatic corps in Thailand from 22 countries, Islamic scholars, religious leaders, prominent figures, and distinguished guests of the Thai Muslim community.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Foundation of Islamic Centre of Thailand, has hosted the Iftar Dinner annually since 2009 to promote good relations between the Muslim diplomatic corps and Muslim community in Thailand.

During his welcome remarks, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul commended Muslim brothers and sisters who are observing the fasting during this holy month for their faith and profound and unwavering devotion and dedication, strictly abiding by Islamic principles. He further reiterated that the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs attaches importance to strengthening the relationship between Thailand and Muslim countries and supports Islamic affairs and the Thai Muslim community.
