The Philippines was elected member of the Governing Councils of the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology (APCICT) and the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) for the term 2018-2021 at elections held during the 74th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok on 11-16 May 2018.

This election marks the first time the Philippines is elected to the CSAM Governing Council, while being re-elected to the APCICT Governing Council.

The Philippines won the elections receiving the second highest vote for APCICT and the third highest vote for CSAM. The Philippines got the most number of votes in the APCICT elections, along with Thailand. For the CSAM elections, the Philippines got the highest number of votes among the neophyte candidates.

The APCICT is hosted in Incheon, Republic of Korea. It aims to strengthen the efforts of UNESCAP Member States to use ICT in their socio-economic development through human and institutional capacity building.

The CSAM is hosted in Beijing, China. It aims to assist Member States to achieve production gains, improved rural livelihood and poverty alleviation through sustainable agricultural mechanization and develops tailored training courses and technical assistance projects that address technological challenges in adopting sustainable agriculture and best agricultural practices
