Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon and other Embassy officials attended the opening ceremony of the 22nd Thai International Travel Fair held on 7 February 2018 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event was graced by Mr. Pongpanu Svetarundra, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Other attendees include members of the diplomatic corps, officials of the Thai Department of Tourism and Tourism Authority of Thailand, as well as various international tourism agencies and guests from various sectors.

Dato Melissa Ong, Director for Marketing for Malaysia and Thailand of the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT), set up a Philippine exhibition booth at the Travel Fair. Aside from offering Philippine tour packages, DOT provided samples of Filipino food such as halo-halo, maja blanca and lechon kawali. Visitors at the Philippine exhibition area were also entertained by Philippine dancers/participants from Bacolod.
