The Bakunawa Dragon Boat Team, a small but highly competitive team from the fishing village of Dalipuga, Iligan City, represented the Philippines at the Kratingdaeng Traditional Boat and Swan Boat King’s Cup held at the Royal Thai Navy Rowing and Canoeing Training Center in Pattaya on 14-15 November 2017.
According to team manager Ms. Mity Lim, Bakunawa Dragon Boat Team is the first and only dragon boat team from Mindanao to compete internationally. They won the Gold Cup in the 16th Sun Life Hong Kong Short Races and the silver in the 6th Huizhou International Dragon boat Invitationals in China on 17 and 18 June 2017.
