On August 4, 2017, Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon attended the International Symposium on Cyber Security: Challenges and Opportunities in the Digital Economy at Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok. The symposium was organized by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in commemoration of the National Communications Day  and attended by over 400 delegates from public, private, and people sector.

 

Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong, Deputy Prime Minister, delivered a keynote on “Cyber security Strategy. Ushering in Thailand 4.0 Era through Public-Private Partnership.”  He discussed Thailand’s cyber security strategy which has been a part of the government’s Digital Economy Policy which has developed complex commitments and engaged in cyber security programs and initiatives.

The symposium featured Mr. Richard A. Clarke, a former Special Advisor to four U.S. Presidents; who developed the country’s first National Strategy to Defend Cyberspace; and an author of Cyber War and Warnings, as a speaker who shared his knowledge on the topic of “Cyber Security: Challenge and Opportunities in the Digital Economy.”
