The Philippine Embassy was among the fifty plus foreign embassies which actively participated in the 50th Anniversary Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar held at the Royal Paragon Hall of the Siam Paragon Shopping Centre in Bangkok on 25-26 February 2017. The Bazaar is under Royal Patronage and is presided by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn as Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society.

The program for the event consisted of the opening ceremony by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, her visit to the “Memorial Corner”, an exhibition of pictures in honour of the late King, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, her customary visit to all booths of participating embassies, and the presentation of gifts to HRH Princess Sirindhorn by each embassy. During the Bazaar, the Embassy featured a cultural performance of “Pandanggo sa Ilaw” by a Filipino teacher based in Thailand. 

The Philippine booth showcased Philippine products produced by Philippine companies in Thailand: Goldilocks Bakeshop Co., Thai Liwayway Food Industries, Unilab Pharmaceuticals Co., Vogue Limited Co., and Universal Robina Corporation. The Bazaar was an opportunity for each participating company to promote and sell its products in Thailand.

The Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar is a fundraising event organized by the Thai Red Cross Society in coordination with the Diplomatic Participants Committee, in support of the various charitable projects of the Society benefitting the needy and the underprivileged people of Thailand.  END
