The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok participated in the “Klong Padung Krungkasem Market Fair” jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Ministry of Interior under the theme “Wisdom of the World”.  It will run from 3 to 27 November 2016 in the area adjacent to the Government House along Padung Krungkasem Canal. 

Initiated in January 2015 by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the fair aims to support and promote the products of Thai farmers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs and to develop a new tourist attraction in Bangkok.  Different government agencies are tasked to organize an event every month.

The Philippine Embassy’s participation was made possible through the support of Chef Tony's, which will participate from 3 to 13 November 2016,  Thai Liwayway (Rinbee and Oishi), which  will participate  from 3 to 7 November 2016, and Universal Robina (Jack n Jilll), which will participate from 10 to 16 November 2016.

Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon attended the opening ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on 04 November 2016. Minister for Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai gave the opening remarks. The Prime Minister and his wife visited all the booths, together with other government officials led by the Foreign Minister and Minister of Interior Anupong Paochinda.
