The Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Mrs. Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon, upon the invitation of Mr. Edward Kiti, President of Rakchat Group and Chairman of Tourists Assistance Foundation, participated in the "6th Celebration of Silk, Thainess to the World 2016", held on 30 August 2016 at World Ballroom, Hotel Centara Grand at Central World.

A collaboration among Rakchat Group, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Queen’s Center for Sericulture and the members of the diplomatic community, the grand event celebrated Mother's Day in honor of Her Majesty The Queen of Thailand ‘s 7th cycle birth anniversary, and to promote tourism, Thai silk and Thai fashion.

Participants in the event include professional models, Thai senior government officials, female Ambassadors and spouses of the Heads of Missions in Thailand, who wore their respective traditional/national costumes custom made in Thai silk and Thai fabrics.

Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon graced the catwalk in traditional Philippine terno while a group of Filipino dancers performed the La Jota Moncadena dance.
An exhibit of Thai silk villages from the different regions of Thailand, together with the traditional costumes worn by the female Ambassadors and the spouses of the Heads of Missions, will be put on display from 30 August to 6 September at the first floor of Central World Mall.
