The Philippine Embassy, represented by Cultural Officer and Attaché, Mrs. Sylvia M. Reyes, participated in in the “Foster Child Meets Mom Day” on 22 August 2015 at the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) office in Bangkok.

The Foster Child project is an annual YWCA event organized during the Thai National Mother’s Day, which coincides with the birthday of H.M. Queen Sirikit. It provides an opportunity for the children to meet their “foster mothers” and for organizers to raise funds for scholarships of children in need. The event was organized in partnership with the Diplomatic Participants Committee of the annual YWCA International Charity Bazaar which is composed of the spouses of the Heads of the diplomatic corps and female Ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom of Thailand.
