25 August 2015 – Upon the invitation of President Benigno S. Aquino III, His Excellency General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, will undertake an Official Visit to the Philippines from 27-28 August 2015.
This is the Thai Prime Minister’s first visit to the Philippines since assuming office in August 2014. This visit hopes to deepen the Philippines’ partnership with Thailand, a fellow founding member of ASEAN and a long-time friend.
During the visit, the two leaders will look into ways to work closely together towards mutual prosperity and contribute to further strengthen ASEAN’s post-2015 vision. They will discuss matters of mutual concern such as defense, law enforcement, education, trade and investments, agriculture, tourism, security, technical cooperation, and ASEAN matters, among others.
Thailand is the Philippines’ 8th largest trading partner in 2014, with total two-way trade amounting to US$ 5.83 billion. The Philippines and Thailand enjoy excellent and cordial relations at the bilateral, regional, and multilateral levels. END
