H.E. General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ministers of Culture of Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam, representative of the Minister of Culture of Myanmar, and representatives from the Embassies of ASEAN member countries in Thailand gathered around and touched the LED lighted globe to signify the official opening of the Center.

 

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN BANGKOK JOINS IN THE OPENING CEREMONY

OF THE ASEAN CULTURAL CENTER OF THAILAND

 

 

H.E. Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon, Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, participated in the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Cultural Center in Thailand held on 7 August 2015 at the Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center in Bangkok.

 

 

The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministers of Culture of Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam, representative of the Minister of Culture of Myanmar, the Secretary-General of ASEAN and representatives from the Embassies of ASEAN member countries in Thailand, executive officers from the Ministry of Culture and representatives from the other government agencies and organizations.

Established by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, the ASEAN Cultural Center is the first ASEAN Cultural Center in ASEAN and is located at the 3rd floor of the Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center. The Center will serve as a venue for exchange and learning about ASEAN arts and culture and will present exhibition zones on the variety of cultural identity and heritage of all ASEAN member countries through multimedia technology
