The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok conducted a consular outreach mission in the tourist island of Koh Samui on 3-5 July 2015.
The mission provided passport-related services, legalization, civil registry, and notarial services, issuance of Embassy identification cards, and Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) registration to the Filipino community based in the island as well as those who came from nearby areas such as Surat Thani province and Koh Pha Nga.
A free seminar on financial literacy was provided by the Embassy team followed by a dialogue on consular and welfare concerns. The team was composed of Vice Consul Jim Minglana, Jabar Guro, Leilani Sazon, Michelle Espiritu, Anne Maris Estoya and Arlene Racho-Pascasio.
The mission included a call on the Mayor and Vice Mayor of Koh Samui province and visits to the Provincial Electricity Authority, the government-owned Koh Samui Hospital, and the Bangkok Hospital.
The success of the mission was made possible by the assistance and support of the Filipino Community in Samui and other Filipinos. END
