BARRIO FIESTA HELD AT PHILIPPINE EMBASSY
IN BANGKOK TO COMMEMORATE 117th ANNIVERSARY OF
THE PROCLAMATION OF PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE
On 7 June 2015, the Filipino Community Organizing Committee (FCOC), with the support of the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, held a Barrio Fiesta at the Embassy grounds in advance celebration of the 117th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence. The whole day event started with a flag raising at 10:30 am, followed by a liturgical mass at 11:00 am.
After the mass, the independence day messages of DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoza, VP Jejomar Binay and DFA Secretary Albert F. del Rosario were read.
In his welcome remarks, Charge d’Affaires Edgar B. Badajos read the independence day message of President Benigno S. Aquino III. He also encouraged the members of the Filipino community to
