The Christmas trees of the Philippines, Germany and Luxembourg were declared as the top three winners with the highest number of votes in the “Christmas Tree Charity 2014” event organized by the Central Department Store Limited at the Central Embassy Mall from 25 November to 15 December 2014.

The Embassy Christmas tree, decorated by Ms. Sylvia M. Reyes, Cultural Officer, with the help of Ms. Catherine Agito and Ms. Maryanne Oclarit, placed third and received 209 votes from in-store and 259 votes from online voting for a total of 468 votes. The Christmas tree of the Embassy of Germany won first place with 161 votes from in-store and 1,189 from online voting for a total of 1,350 votes and the second place went to the Christmas tree of the Embassy of Luxembourg with 104 votes from in-store and 1,227 from online voting for a total of 1,331 votes. The winners will be given the privilege to choose the charitable institution that will receive the prize money of Baht 100, 000.00.

The Siam Commercial Bank, sponsor for the third place Christmas tree, will give the prize money to the Thai Red Cross Society as the Philippine Embassy’s chosen charitable institution to support the projects and researches of the Thai Red Cross Society, under the Royal patronage with HM Queen Sirikit as the President of the Council and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn as the Executive Vice-President of the Executive Committee.

The Embassy would like to thank all who voted for its tree and made the donation to the Thai Red Cross Society possible.
