The Philippine Delegation headed by Acting Health Secretary Dr. Janette Garin participated in the ASEAN Plus Three Health Ministers’ Special Meeting on Ebola Preparedness and Response, which was held on 14-15 December 2014. The discussions centered on efforts of the different countries to counter the speed of the ebola virus and possible areas of cooperation. In his remarks, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of Thailand said that ASEAN should not be complacent in its efforts to fight the virus.

Ambassador Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia and Second Secretary Ms. Princess Tomas-Tayao attended the Opening of the Special Ministerial Meeting on 15 December 2014. Senior Health Program Officers Mesdames Maria Cristy Yuson and Analyin Sumido also attended the Meeting.
