PHILIPPINE EMBASSY
IN BANGKOK PARTICIPATES ANEW IN CHRISTMAS TREE CHARITY 2014

 

 

 

 

 

For the third consecutive year, the Embassy participated in the “Christmas Tree Charity 2014” organized by the Central Department Store Limited. The event opened on 25 November at the Central Embassy Mall and will run from 25 November to 15 December 2014.

The ten (10) participating Embassies (Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, United States of America,United Kingdom, and the Philippines), were each given identical white Christmas trees to be decorated by them with ornaments from their respective countries and those provided by the organizers. The public will be asked to vote for their favorite tree. The Embassies whose Christmas trees receive the highest number of votes will each be awarded Baht 100, 000.00, to be donated to the charitable institution in Thailand of their own choice. The winners will be announced on 18 December 2014.

The Philippine Embassy’s Christmas tree is decorated with miniature lanterns made of capis and angels with green ribbons made of abaca and sinamay fibers from the Philippines together with the ornaments provided by the store. The Philippine native Christmas ornaments give a Philippine touch to the Embassy Christmas tree.
