The Foreign Correspondent Club of Thailand (FFCT), in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, held a successful film showing of the Philippine film entitled “Ekstra” (The Bit Player) on 13 October 2014 at FCCT.  The film was provided by its producer/director Jeffrey Jethurian.

The film is part of the Contemporary World Film Series being organized by Ms. Lekha Shankar, journalist and film coordinator of FCCT.

Starring Ms. Vilma Santos, “Ekstra” centers around the shooting of a melodramatic soap opera and shows the highs and lows of “bit players” or “ekstras” in the film industry.  END
