The Philippine Embassy is in the process of gathering information about the working conditions of Filipino teachers in Thailand, such as but not limited to their salaries and other employment benefits, type of visa held, and other matters affecting their ability to meaningfully and fruitfully practice their teaching profession in Thailand.

The purpose of the exercise is to find ways of helping improve the working conditions of Filipino teachers in Thailand, in light of statements that many of them are receiving less benefit than what their educational experience and work background could demand under fairer circumstances.

If you work or have previously worked as teacher in Thailand, kindly coordinate with the Embassy through This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. on or before 24 September 2010.

The Embassy would also like to take this opportunity to invite Filipino teachers to a seminar on pertinent laws, rules and regulations affecting foreign teachers in Thailand to be held at the Embassy Conference Hall on October 9, from 9 to 12.  Featured speakers include officials from the Teachers’ Council of Thailand and the Association of Southeast Asian Institutes of Higher Learning.

Your usual cooperation on matters of mutual concern would be highly appreciated.
