BANGKOK, 11 DECEMBER 2024 – Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes on 11 December 2024 to formally introduce himself as the new President of the University and discuss possible collaborations and activities with Philippine educational institutions. He also expressed the University’s intention to further strengthen the academic engagements between Chulalongkorn and its partners in the Philippines.

The University has partnered with several top Philippine universities, including Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, San Carlos University, Southwestern University, the University of the Philippines, and University of Santo Tomas.

During the meeting Ambassador Paredes and President Puriwat reaffirmed their commitment to exploring further avenues for collaboration. Both emphasized the vital role of academic partnerships in fostering cultural and historical understanding between the Philippines and Thailand, particularly in the context of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year.
