BANGKOK, 02 OCTOBER 2024 - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, conducted the 2024 Special Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers on 29 September with a total of 771 examinees.
A seven-member delegation from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) traveled to Bangkok to administer this year’s licensure examination for Filipino teachers in Thailand and neighboring countries Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
Prior to the examination proper, the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok and the PRC closely coordinated the conduct of the examination and the preparatory steps, including the processing and release of the Notice of Admission to the examinees over a three-day period at the Embassy premises.
The licensure examination for teachers in Thailand has become a significant opportunity for Filipino educators in Thailand and neighboring countries to earn their Philippine teaching license, and enhance their credentials and qualifications for career development and advancement.
Bringing the licensure examination closer to Filipino teachers overseas is the Philippine Embassy and PRC’s way of supporting Filipino teachers, making it more convenient for them to achieve their professional goals. Members of the Filipino community in Thailand also play a significant role as room watchers and proctors during the examination day.
This joint collaboration between the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok and the PRC underscores the importance of providing accessible professional development opportunities for Filipino teachers in the diaspora, recognizing their significant contributions to the educational landscape in Thailand and the neighboring countries.
