BANGKOK, 09 AUGUST 2024 – Deputy Chief of Mission Edna May G. Lazaro received at the Philippine Embassy visiting officials of the Philippine Network of Educators on Environment (PNEE) led by its president, Dr. Cecilia N. Gascon on 8 August. PNEE discussed the International Conference on Environmental Education in Southeast Asia (iCEESEA 2024) that they are organizing with their network partners in Thailand. The event is tentatively set for 20-22 November 2024 at Kasetsart University Kamphaeng Saen Campus.
DCM Lazaro expressed her appreciation and support for PNEE’s various initiatives on environment education, an area that is relevant and much-valued given shared experiences and concerns of the region.
PNEE is a national network of universities, colleges, and individuals in the Philippines cooperatively promoting the advancement of environmental education for sustainable development. One of its flagship activities is organizing conferences on environmental education.
The network is bringing the iCEESEA 2024 edition to Thailand in partnership with Kasetsart University. They expect to draw about 100 participants composed of academics and representatives from institutions in the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and other related entities. END
