BANGKOK, 09 AUGUST 2024 - Philippine Ambassador to Thailand and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Millicent Cruz Paredes led the Philippine Embassy’s participation in the 57th ASEAN Day celebration held on 08 August 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand organized by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Paredes represented the Philippines in a special ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony, joining Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa and Ambassadors and representatives of ASEAN Member States and Dialogue Partners.

The Philippine Embassy also participated in the Thai Foreign Ministry’s ASEAN Day Exhibition for junior high school students, with a booth featuring Filipino festivals, instruments, and cultural heritage sites. The highlight of the Philippine booth was the ube, queso, and tsoknut sorbetes (ice cream) for the students and guests to try. END
