BANGKOK, 14 May 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok conducted a consular and assistance-to-nationals (ATN) outreach mission in Chiang Mai, Thailand on 11 May 2024 to provide passport, notarial, civil registry, and ATN services to Filipinos in the northern Thailand region.

The Filipino community in Chiang Mai and its neighboring provinces availed consular and ATN services during the mission. A number of them were further able to update their overseas voter records, as well as register as first-time voters in preparation for the next midterm Philippine elections in 2025.

Chiang Mai is the largest city in northern Thailand, the capital of Chiang Mai province and the second largest city in Thailand. Chiang Mai and its neighboring provinces host an estimated 1,500 overseas Filipinos, many of whom are employed as teachers and missionaries. END
