Philippine Embassy personnel with the Ambassador for a Day winners
BANGKOK, 11 MARCH 2024 – In commemoration of the International Women’s Day, Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes hosted two (2) Thai students at the Philippine Embassy as part of the 2024 “Ambassador for a Day” project, a joint initiative of the women Ambassadors’ group in Thailand and the United Nations women leaders.
Based on their advocacies in accelerating financing and digitalization for gender equality, Mr. Thepparith Devahasdin Na Ayuthi and Ms. Udtha-undh Narasukparipat were selected to shadow Ambassador Paredes for the day.
After participating in the International Women’s Day Program at the UN Convention Center in Bangkok, Mr. Thepparith and Ms. Udtha-undh engaged in immersion activities prepared by the Philippine Embassy. To learn about Filipino history, traditions, cuisine, and culture, a brief discussion with the different section heads of the Embassy and a video presentation highlighting the country’s diverse heritage and natural wonders were included in their program.
To cap their day as young “Ambassadors-in-training,” Mr. Thepparith and Ms. Udtha-undh played traditional Philippine games with Embassy personnel and shared a traditional Filipino merienda with all participants.
The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok was co-coordinator for the 2024 “Ambassador for a Day'' Project. Now in its fourth year, the initiative aims to inspire Thai youth to identify and address gender issues in their communities by shadowing distinguished women leaders. END
