BANGKOK, 31 January 2024. The Philippine Pavilion at the 29th Thai International Travel Fair (TITF) featured colorful tourism displays, travel packages and services, from the country’s beaches and cultural landmarks to adventure-packed itineraries.
Ms. Gwendolyn S. Batoon, Head of the Department of Tourism’s ASEAN Market Development Division, led the Philippine delegation for the event held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand on 25-28 January 2024.
Organized and hosted jointly by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and The Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA), with the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) as a sponsor, this year’s TITF brought together over 1000 participants composed of travel and tour operators, travel enthusiasts, government representatives and exhibitors from various countries. This collaborative effort showcased the diverse array of tourism and destination packages and services for both domestic and outbound travels.
As one of the sponsors of the event, the DOT was also able to showcase Philippine culture during the opening ceremony and throughout the event through performances of the Sindaw Philippines Performing Arts Guild. The group performed a selection of Filipino songs and traditional dances for the guests and visitors, showcasing the country’s unique artistic traditions influenced by Spanish colonial heritage, and the country’s ethnic and tribal cultures.
The Philippine delegation, together with their respective Thai business counterparts, was composed of representatives from the Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, ESL and dive business segment representatives. END.
