BANGKOK, 18 DECEMBER 2023 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok conducted a consular and assistance-to-nationals (ATN) outreach mission in Sisaket, Thailand on 10 December 2023 to provide passport, notarial, civil registry services, assistance-to-nationals (ATN) and overseas voter registration (OV) services to Filipinos in the Isan Region of Thailand. This is the first time that the outreach mission was conducted in the Sisaket Province of Thailand.
Overseas Filipinos who availed the services of the Embassy came from the Provinces of Sisaket, Khon Kaen, Roi Et, Surin, Mukdahan, Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothon, Sakon Nakhon, and Suphan Buri.
Overseas Filipinos avail of the various consular services offered during the outreach mission.
Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Edna May Grecia-Lazaro officiated a wedding ceremony during the outreach mission.
Overseas voter registration services for overseas voters were also provided during the mission in preparation for the midterm Philippine elections in 2025.
Sisaket is situated in Northeast Thailand, a region composed of 20 provinces with at least 1,313 resident overseas Filipinos.
On the sidelines of the mission, the Philippine Embassy joined the closing ceremony of Pinoy sa Isan’s (PINSAN) 11th Palarong Pinoy held on 10 December 2023 at Satreesiriket School. Palarong Pinoy is an event of PINSAN that aims to foster camaraderie and unity through sports, by bringing together members of the Filipino community around Northeast Thailand, local residents, and guests to participate in various sports activities that showcase teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendly competition.
