BANGKOK, 30 November 2023 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok welcomed the Philippine skateboarding delegation, led by Mr. Harold Crisostomo, the team’s manager and liaison officer, during a courtesy call meeting with Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Edna May G. Lazaro.

DCM Lazaro thanked the delegation for taking their time to visit the Embassy and proudly welcomed the Filipino skateboarders who will be representing the country in the upcoming Thailand Tropical Downhill Race.

Mr. Crisostomo spoke about the ongoing efforts being undertaken by the Philippine Skateboarding Organization to strengthen the country’s promotion and development of skateboarding in the country. He highlighted that with the right training, investment in infrastructure and facilities, and government support, Filipino skateboarders have the potential to compete at a high level and succeed in showcasing their skills on the international stage. The team proudly shared that Filipino skateboarders are among the top athletes in the ASEAN region. Ms. Rydel is ranked as third fastest in qualifying time and fifth in the world ranking. DCM Lazaro commended the delegation for their dedication, acknowledging their contribution to the Philippine sports landscape. She emphasized that their achievements not only reflect personal success but also bring immense pride to the country.

Ms. Rydel Grace and Mr. Daniel Bautista are set to compete in the Open women’s and Open Men’s Division. Notably, Ms. Rydel secured the first-place victory, and Mr. Daniel Bautista clinched the third-place position. END
