BANGKOK, 17 October 2023 - The stage was set for musical brilliance, and Mr. Franz Jensen Andra delivered a performance that captivated audiences and judges alike, earning him the prestigious Gold Medal at the recently-concluded Thailand International Clarinet Competition. The competition took place from 6 – 8 October 2023 at the Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the Young Artist Category B, which featured contestants not older than 18 years old, seven (7) exceptionally talented young musicians from around the world vied for the top prize. The event, now in its sixth year, brought together representatives from four countries: Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, and China. Mr. Andra proudly represented the Philippines and emerged as the champion in this fiercely contested category.

The Thailand International Clarinet Competition is a prestigious event that showcases the finest talents in the world of classical music. Year after year, it continues to be a platform for young and exceptionally gifted artists to exhibit their skills, learn, and grow in the world of classical music. The competition’s six-year history has seen it grow into a renowned and much-anticipated event in the international music scene.
