Philippine Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes tours Bangkok Governor Chadchart and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Officials around the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok
BANGKOK, 10 October 2023 - Philippine Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Millicent Cruz Paredes had the honor of receiving Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt at the Philippine Embassy on Monday, 09 October 2023, together with Deputy Governors Wisanu Subsampon and Sanon Wangrangboon, and Chairman of Advisors to the Governor Torsak Chotimongkol.
Ambassador Paredes toured the Governor and officials of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) around the Embassy grounds in Bangkok, after hosting them to a delectable Filipino lunch at the neighborhood restaurant, Lola’s Kitchen.
Ambassador Paredes thanked Governor Chadchart for sharing his valuable time with the Philippine Embassy, and for recognizing the valuable contribution of the Filipino community to the development of Bangkok society. Ambassador Paredes proudly noted how Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s schools employ hundreds of Filipino teachers. They both agreed to continue the close collaboration between the Philippine Embassy and Bangkok provincial government, including working together on a meaningful 75th Anniversary of Philippines-Thailand relations in 2024.
Ambassador Paredes also proudly showed Governor Chadchart the brand new Philippine Tourism posters that adorn the Embassy. Produced by the Philippine Department of Tourism and the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, each poster highlights a unique tourist destination in the Philippines, inviting Embassy visitors and everyday Bangkok commuters alike to visit and experience the beauty and rich cultural diversity of the Philippines.
The Philippine Embassy is located on upper Sukhumvit Road, one of the busiest thoroughfares of Bangkok. The Philippine Government purchased the Embassy property on 28 June 1963. Previously known as the Mangala Palace, the property served as the residence of H.R.H. Princess Chalermkhetra Mangala from 1932 to 1957. END
