BANGKOK, 08 JUNE 2023. A delegation of Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) scientists and engineers, headed by Deputy Director General Dr. Gay Jane Perez, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy to share updates on the outcome of the delegation's engagements and participation in the ASEAN Space Workshop held in Bangkok on 30 May 2023 to 01 June 2023.
As the chairman of the Sub-Committee on Space Technology and Applications (SCOSA), Thailand's Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) organized the ASEAN Space Workshop for ASEAN member states to facilitate discussions on how to pursue cooperation in ASEAN in areas like the region's Space Situational Awareness, Space Conditions, Data Center Development Satellite Assembly and Testing Center, and expanding the scope of operations of the the receiver station.
The PhilSA delegation was one of the seven (7) member countries that participated in the event, which included Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, as well as the ASEAN Secretariat. END
