BANGKOK, 25 May 2023. The Philippine Pavilion and the Coconut Pavilion were opened at Thaifex-Anuga Asia on 23 May 2023 at the IMPACT Arena in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, Thailand. The Thaifex-Anuga Asia is one of the most significant trade events in Thailand. The event runs until 27 May 2023. Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes led the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Philippine pavilions, composed of over 30 exhibiting companies and agencies, showcased various Filipino food and agricultural products, including coconut products, organic and healthy fruit beverages, instant food and beverages mixes, food snacks, noodles, pili nuts, sardines and processed fish and meat to a highly diversified and innovative international market.

In her remarks, Ambassador Paredes conveyed her pride in seeing the Philippines represented at the Thaifex-Anuga 2023 as the country vigorously works towards recovering from the global economic slump caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. She emphasized that the Philippines has many strong products that can proudly compete with the world’s best. She expressed hope that the country’s participation in the event would provide more business opportunities for Philippine industries and entrepreneurs and facilitate the necessary connection and access to the world market.

Ambassador Paredes also commended the unceasing efforts exerted by the PHILFOODEX, the Agrifood Market Linkage, Philippine manufacturers and exhibitors, the Department of Trade and Industry through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) Bangkok, and the Department of Agriculture through the Office of the Agriculture Attache in Bangkok, to ensure a successful participation of Philippine companies in this year’s Thaifex-Anuga Asia event in Thailand.

The Thaifex-Anuga Asia will run from 23 to 27 May 2023. END
