The 2023 Ambassadors for a Day enjoying their Filipino lunch and halo-halo.
The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok joined the global celebration of the International Women’s Day with various activities that included the third edition of the “Ambassador for a Day” project of the Women Ambassadors in Thailand.
The project is envisioned to provide young gender advocates in Thailand an opportunity to experience diplomatic life at the highest level. Participating embassies and UN agencies selected youth ambassadors from different schools and universities across the kingdom to amplify gender issues and challenges affecting their respective communities, particularly its vulnerable and marginalized groups, i.e. women, LGBTQ+, differently abled and the elderly.
The Philippine Embassy hosted two young gender advocates, Ms. Patthanunn Chanpaiboonrat from Chulalongkorn University, and Mr. Jom Ruschano from Thammasat University. They had the unique opportunity to experience the International Women’s Day celebration at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok, visit the Philippine Embassy and participate in a series of activities lined up for them. They were briefed about the different sections of the Embassy, watched videos on history and culture of the Philippines, introduced to popular Filipino dishes, snacks and desserts, and immersed in traditional Filipino games.
