Ambassador Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia paid a courtesy call on Pol. Col. Adirek Buerahang, Chief of Hatyai Police Station on 1 March 2013, accompanied by Mr. Joemel Gelvoligaya, a representative of the Organization of Filipino Expatriates in South Thailand (OFEST).
Ambassador Batoon-Garcia and Pol. Col. Adirek Buerahang discussed issues concerning the welfare of Filipinos based in Hatyai, Songkhla province, Thailand. Pol. Col. Buerahang said that Filipinos contribute greatly to the economic and social development of Hatyai through their work as teachers. He assured the Ambassador that the police is doing its best to maintain peace and order in Hatyai.
