BANGKOK, 11 APRIL 2022 – A team from the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok conducted a consular outreach mission held at Novotel Vintage Park Resort in Patong, Phuket Province, Thailand on 09-10 April 2022 to provide passport, notarial, and civil registry services to Filipinos in the area.

The consular outreach mission was held in parallel with a Mobile Voting Mission on 10 April 2022, the first day of the overseas voting period for the 2022 Philippine National Elections. Overseas Filipino voters from Phuket and the neighboring provinces of Krabi, Surat Thani, and Phang-nga dropped off their accomplished ballots at the official dropbox at the mission venue.

Phuket province hosts the largest number of Filipino nationals outside of Bangkok. Many of the estimated 1,219 Filipinos are employed in the hotel, restaurant, and hospitality industries of the world-famous tourist destination. END
