Bangkok, 11 March 2022 – H.E. Millicent Cruz Paredes, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Thailand and Permanent Representative of the Philippines to United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), concluded her chairmanship of the series of informal consultations among the ESCAP Member States on the review of ESCAP’s conference structure.

The consultations ended on 04 March 2022 as Member States agreed on the changes proposed and discussed in the six (6) meetings that started in November 2021.
The outcome of the consultations will be finalized as an annex of a draft resolution that Member States will negotiate in the Informal Working Group on Draft Resolutions starting next month, and will be submitted for the consideration of the Commission at its 78th session on 23-27 May 2022.

The informal consultation process on the periodic review of the ESCAP conference structure was mandated by the regional commission in 2017.
