The Philippine Embassy announces with pride that three prizes were garnered by Filipino performers from Thailand in the recently concluded QuaranTinig: Patimpalak sa Pag-Awit, an online musical competition launched by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) to commemorate the Buwan ng Wika sa Taong 2020 by promoting the Filipino language through Original Pilipino Music (OPM). The winners are the following:

         

  • MUSIC MIX BAND, 2nd prize winner for their group performance of the song “Bulag, Pipi at Bingi”;
  • JYLE SEDILLO, 3rd prize winner for her solo performance of the song “Lipad ng Pangarap”; and
  • MARY GRACE MIRAFLORES, consolation prize for her solo performance of the song “Dakilang Lahi”.

A project of the Sentro Rizal Filipinas of NCCA, the QuaranTinig was participated in by thirty-five (35) Foreign Service Posts with Sentros Rizal (SR). Sentro Rizal Bangkok is proud to note that out of its twenty-six (26) entries, three (3) won the competition.

The list of winners was published by the Sentro Rizal Filipinas newsletter, “SIKAT: Sining, Kultura, at Tradisyon”, September 2020 issue (copy attached).

          The Embassy will upload to its website and Facebook page the respective videos of the above winners as soon as clearance from NCCA is received.
