The Embassy is pleased to announce that the Philippine entry entitled “To Calm the Pig Inside” was given the Special Mention Award by the jury for the ASEAN Short Film Competition held during the 6th Bangkok ASEAN Film Festival from 3 – 6 September 2020 at the SF Cinema, CentralWorld in Bangkok. The film is about the effects of a typhoon on families and how they cope with the devastation and trauma.
In addition to the ASEAN Short Film category which had 15 entries, the Festival presented films in two other categories, the SEA Project Pitch with 8 entries, and the screening of selected special films from SEA including China and Japan, ASEAN’s dialogue partners.
H.E. Minister of Culture Ittiphol Kunplome presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Festival on 3 September 2020, which was attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps, officials from the National Film and Video Committee, the National Federation of Thai Film Associations and other representatives from film-related agencies. #
