24 April 2020 - The Philippine Embassy in Thailand, with the full support of the Department of Foreign Affairs, repatriated today 185 Filipinos in the Kingdom as part of the government’s repatriation program for overseas Filipinos affected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The repatriates consist of 6 infants and 179 adults and come from Bangkok, its neighboring provinces, and far away provinces such as Chiang Rai, Narathiwat, Songkhla, Phuket, and Roi Et. Many of the repatriates lost their jobs in the hospitality and education sectors as a result of the COVID-19 situation and associated measures.

The Embassy continues to accept repatriation requests from Filipinos in Thailand and will organize repatriation flights as soon as these are funded and approved.
