MANILA 25 September 2019 – Here’s another reason for young Filipinos overseas to join the Diskubre Tour: participants will get to meet Young Champion of the Earth and Junior Master Chef Louise Mabulo, who just received a commendation from the United Nations Environment Programme for her social enterprise, The Cacao Project.

The 20-year-old will host the Diskubre group in her farm in San Fernando, Camarines Sur, where she will relay her story as an overseas Filipino child who grew up in the United Kingdom and came back to the Philippines with her family to start a farm in her father’s hometown in Bicol. Ms. Mabulo promotes her advocacy of sustainable farming through The Cacao Project, which also helps support her community through viable livelihood.

The Filipina social entrepreneur was only 12 years old when she finished as a finalist in the TV reality show Junior Master Chef UK. Since then, she has garnered accolades from Moet & Chandon, World Food Expo, Madrid Fusion, Disciples des Escoffier Young Talent Trophy Asia, among other acclaims.

She now operates The Culinary Lounge, an exclusive dining experience where Diskubre guests will be treated to a specially curated farm-to-table artisanal supper in her organic kitchen.

Diskubre Tour is a project of the Department of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and the Local Government of Bicol. The tour will run from 3 to 13 January 2020. More information and registration instructions can be found at www.travelwiseonline.com/diskubre. Deadline for registration is on 31 October. END
