18 September 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok conducted a second consular outreach this year in Patong Municipality, Phuket Province on 14-15 September 2019. Phuket, an island province in the Andaman Sea, is one of Thailand’s most popular tourist destinations. Patong is considered as Phuket’s most popular tourist area, with a large concentration of hotels, restaurants, and bars, with a large number of Filipino hotel workers and musicians.

The consular outreach catered to over three hundred (301) Filipinos from Phuket and other provinces in Southern Thailand.

The Philippine Embassy conducted four consular outreaches in Southern Thailand this year, the region being home to a sizeable number of overseas Filipinos.
