08 August 2019 –The Philippine Embassy joined other ASEAN Member States (AMS) in celebrating ASEAN Day 2019 at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The commemoration began early with the ASEAN Flag Hoisting Ceremony in front of the Vithes Samosorn Hall at the MFA, where Thai MFA officials, ASEAN Ambassadors as well as Embassy representatives were present.

This year’s event focused on raising awareness of ASEAN among the youth. Hundreds of Thai students, as well as children from the ASEAN Embassies in Bangkok, participated in games and went around the country booths of ASEAN Embassies.

The Philippine Embassy booth showcased various Philippine cultural memorabilia, including the commemorative stamps for the 70th Anniversary of Philippines-Thailand Diplomatic Relations. Several ASEAN souvenirs were also distributed to the visitors.
Three (3) children of Philippine Embassy personnel joined in the singing of the ASEAN Anthem during the Opening Ceremony of the ASEAN Day 2019 commemoration.
