BANGKOK 05 February 2019 - Philippine Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon, joined Thai alumni of the University of the Philippines- Los Baños (UPLB) during a seminar they organized at Kasetsart University on 1 February 2019. The seminar, entitled “ASEAN Connectivity during the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, was held to coincide with the 76th Founding Anniversary of Kasetsart University, Thailand’s first agricultural university, and served as a reunion for the Thai UPLB Alumni Association.

In her special remarks, the Philippine Ambassador emphasized the Philippines’ initiatives in the agricultural and industrial sectors as well as the importance of inclusiveness in the context of development. She also briefly discussed the importance of regional cooperation in addressing some opportunities and challenges arising from the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Select speakers subsequently delivered presentations on their respective fields of expertise, which included business, agriculture, tourism and education. The presentations were followed by a slideshow on the history of UPLB and the lives of Thai students in Los Baños.

There were approximately 60 participants in the seminar, most of whom were alumni of UPLB. END
