              Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand H.E. Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon, in collaboration with the River City Bangkok (RCB) Film Club, celebrated 100 years of Philippine Cinema by hosting the screening, free of charge, of Philippine indie film “The Bit Player (Ekstra)” on 29 September 2018 at the River City Bangkok Forum Theatre, RCB Shopping Mall, Bangkok’s “Anchor of Arts and Antiques”.

           The film starred renowned “star for all seasons” and now politician Ms. Vilma Santos. It was directed by Mr. Jeffrey Jeturian, who flew in to Bangkok to grace the screening of his film.

          The event was well attended by members of the Filipino community, Ambassadors and other diplomats from various Embassies, and also by the Thai movie-going public. The film entertained the viewers while opening their eyes to the plight of bit players, who play an important role in film-making in the Philippines.
