SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF ISSUANCE OF OEC, AND PROCESSING OF APPLICATIONS FOR OWWA MEMBERSHIP, AT THE EMBASSY

Further to our advisory dated 15 December 2010, please be informed that Mr. Hector B. Cruz Jr, Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA) Officer and Attache, was recalled to Manila in December 2010 as a result of a re-organization within OWWA. It is not certain whether he will have a replacement. The Embassy is aware of the inconvenience that cessation of the issuance of OECs and processing of applications of OWWA Membership at the Embassy  has brought to Filipinos in Thailand. The Embassy, through the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, has, therefore, requested the  OWWA and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to send a new officer to Bangkok at the earliest opportunity.
