20 August 2015 - The Department of Foreign Affairs has placed Thailand under the Alert Level 1 (Precautionary Phase) in view of the bomb blast incident near the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok on 17 August 2015. Filipinos are particularly advised to exercise precaution when visiting popular tourist spots and other heavily populated areas in Bangkok.
Alert Level 1 is issued when there are valid signs of internal disturbance, instability, and external threat to the host country. Filipinos are alerted to take necessary precautions.
The Philippine Embassy is ready to extend assistance, if necessary, to the estimated 15,000 Filipinos in Thailand. Below are the contact details of the Embassy:
