It was announced on local television at 1730hrs today that as of 1630hrs the Thai military has taken over the reins of government to restore peace and order.

Curfew has been imposed from 10pm to 5am.

In view of this development, Filipinos are advised to exercise extreme caution and vigilance and observe the following precautionary measures:

-Remain indoors for the duration of the curfew;
-Avoid non-essential movements within Thailand;
-Refrain from taking part in protests and other political activities;
-Follow security instructions by the authorities; and
-Contact the Embassy for emergencies via the following:
