The Philippine Embassy wishes to inform the Filipino Community in Thailand that the nomination for the 2024 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO) is open until 30 May 2024 (PH time).
The PAFIOO is granted by the Philippine government to acknowledge and celebrate overseas Filipinos, as well as other individuals or groups, for their contributions to Philippine development initiatives, advocacy for the Filipino diaspora, or outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
This biennial recognition underscores the enduring Filipino values of “bayanihan” or "pakikipagkapwa,” “pagtutulungan,” and “pagkakaisa.”
The PAFIOO shall be conferred to the recipients by the President in a ceremony during the observance of the Month of Overseas Filipinos in December 2024 at the Malacañang Palace.
The four (4) award categories are as follows:
1. Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino (LINKAPIL) Award - bestowed upon Filipino individuals or organizations in recognition of their remarkable and substantial contributions to progress and development in the Philippines.
2. Banaag Award - granted to Filipino individuals or organizations whose contributions have significantly benefited a specific diaspora sector or advanced the cause and interests of overseas Filipino communities.
3. Pamana ng Pilipino Award - conferred upon overseas Filipino individuals who, by embodying the talent and diligence of the Filipino, have brought honor and recognition to the country through excellence and distinction in their respective work or profession.
4. Kaanib ng Bayan Award - given to foreign individuals (natural-born) and organizations for their outstanding and meaningful contributions to Philippine progress and development, as well as for their efforts in advancing the cause and promoting the interests of overseas Filipino communities.
