In celebration of the National Women’s Month, the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, through the Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy-Cultural Diplomacy Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and in collaboration with the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO), invites the Filipino community particularly women’s groups and enthusiasts on Philippine Studies in Thailand, to watch a symposium entitled “Legacies and Standpoints: Filipino Women in Multilateralism” on 10 March 2023 at 1:00PM (Philippine time). This kickoff program highlights the status and her-story of women in multilateralism.

The symposium is a tribute to the first lady senator of the Republic of the Philippines, Senator Geronima Tomelden-Pecson, an outstanding trailblazer who was instrumental in the creation of UNACOM, and the first Filipina to be a member of the UNESCO Executive Board in 1950.
