20220516 Advisory Employment Contracts OEC

The Philippine Embassy reminds Filipino nationals, currently employed or intending to work as direct-hire workers in Thailand, of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Memorandum Circular No. 08, s. 2018 dated 26 April 2018 on the Implementing Guidelines on the Registration of Direct-Hire Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and POEA Memorandum Circular No. 2, Series of 2019 on the registration and issuance of the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) to returning workers.

To avoid potential issues concerning your OEC application, please make sure that your employment contract or offer letter complies with the POEA minimum standards and additional standards for professionals and skilled workers, including coverage for medical insurance and repatriation.

Please check POEA’s sample "Employment Contract for Various Skills" to determine if your employment contract complies with the minimum provisions of a standard employment contract.
